Error 418 – “I’m a Teapot”

Did you know there’s an official internet error code that says “I’m a teapot”?

That’s Error 418, originally introduced as an April Fools’ joke in 1998 by the creators of the Hyper Text Coffee Pot Control Protocol (HTCPCP). The error was meant to appear if a client tried to brew coffee using a teapot, which naturally, is not equipped for such duties.

Despite being a parody, it became something of a geek cult classic, and many websites and developers still include it for fun.
